Last week we pushed out a major new release (version 1.1.7) of QVSource, the QlikView API Connector. Below is a summary of the main updates.
If you haven't already tried QVSource you can sign up for the evaluation version here.
New YouTube Connector
We now have a connector for YouTube which not only lets you load details for videos matching a search term but also lets you get at the Insights data for viewer activity on any videos in your account!
Improved Facebook Insights Connector
In the last update we released an initial version of Facebook Insights, which is like the Google Analytics of Facebook. A number of bugs have now been fixed and this connector is ready to use.
New Mailbox Connector
We have a new connector which will extract emails from a Pop3 mailbox.
Two New Sentiment APIs
That's right, we've added not 1, but 2 new sentiment APIs (Alchemy and Viralheat) to our Sentiment Connector. We have also upgraded the Repustate sentiment connector to use V2 of their API and also added in support for their verbs and adjectives APIs so that you can extract these 'parts of speech' for analysis in your QlikView applications.
Server Version Updates
You can now view and configure QVSource when it is running in server mode without having to go through any special steps as was required in the initial release of this feature.
Are You Updated?
We've added a useful little feature on the 'About' tab of QVSource, which lets you check if you've got the latest version.
General Fixes
There have been a number of updates/improvements/fixes to many of the connectors, the change log section of the connector's page on the wiki will typically give more details.
