QVSource - Update (v1.1.8)

Friday, 28 October 2011 16:37 by qlikster

We have just pushed out a new release of QVSource to our existing users - to get it just click the 'Update Check' button on the About tab of the main QVSource window (as illustrated here).

Some of the updates in this version:

  • New tables in the Google Analytics connector for listing the sites and segments you have access to. We have a cool new demo which shows how to use this to generate a QlikView dashboard for the sites you like without having to know the profile id's.
  • New User and CommentsForItem tables in the Facebook Fan Page connector make this connector a lot more powerful and flexible now. It also now can return all comments for an item where as previously it was only the subset which was shown in the Facebook web interface.
  • The YouTube connector has a load of new tables and features!
  • You can now set a custom folder for the QVSource cache on the About tab of the main QVSource window. This will allow, for example, multiple QVSource instances to share the results of sentiment API calculations.
  • Added User, Topics, InfluencedBy and InfluencerOf tables to the Klout connector so there is now a load more information you can get for the Twitter users in your data.
  • The Twitter connector has been updated to match some recent changes made to the Twitter API.
  • The MongoDB connector is now able to access sub documents.
We are delighted to now have over 50 users recommending QVSource on LinkedIn - if you think the product is useful please help support us by adding your vote.

We are continuing to work really hard on the product and plan to have it commercially available by mid to end of November.

QVSource Update 5

Monday, 3 October 2011 11:36 by qlikster

Last week we pushed out a major new release (version 1.1.7) of QVSource, the QlikView API Connector. Below is a summary of the main updates.

If you haven't already tried QVSource you can sign up for the evaluation version here.

New YouTube Connector

We now have a connector for YouTube which not only lets you load details for videos matching a search term but also lets you get at the Insights data for viewer activity on any videos in your account!

Improved Facebook Insights Connector

In the last update we released an initial version of Facebook Insights, which is like the Google Analytics of Facebook. A number of bugs have now been fixed and this connector is ready to use.

New Mailbox Connector

We have a new connector which will extract emails from a Pop3 mailbox.

Two New Sentiment APIs

That's right, we've added not 1, but 2 new sentiment APIs (Alchemy and Viralheat) to our Sentiment Connector. We have also upgraded the Repustate sentiment connector to use V2 of their API and also added in support for their verbs and adjectives APIs so that you can extract these 'parts of speech' for analysis in your QlikView applications.

Server Version Updates

You can now view and configure QVSource when it is running in server mode without having to go through any special steps as was required in the initial release of this feature.

Are You Updated?

We've added a useful little feature on the 'About' tab of QVSource, which lets you check if you've got the latest version.

General Fixes

There have been a number of updates/improvements/fixes to many of the connectors, the change log section of the connector's page on the wiki will typically give more details.
