We are pleased to announce that the QVSource Desktop client and Google Analytics Connector are now out of beta! We feel that these products have now been sufficiently used and tested although of course as with any product new issues may be discovered whch we will fix as soon as we can. As many elements of QVSource are still in beta and the commercial/licensing details are still under review, we will continue to refer to the programme as a whole as being in beta.
In line with this we have just sent out version 1.0.9 to all our users. Some of the key changes, in no particular order, in this version include:
-
A new Short URL Expander Connector has been developed by a partner so that you can easily expand short URLs in your QlikView application.
-
A new Connector is available for augmenting Twitter account names with their Klout score.
-
The Google Analytics Connector now supports advanced segments and is also out of beta.
-
The Facebook Personal Connector has been largely rewritten to improve performance and fix a few minor bugs where some data might have been lost before it got to QlikView. The Facebook demo app has also had a big overhaul and now mashes up three different connectors/APIs to provide mapping of your Friends home locations as well as their checkins and post sentiment. It's really amazing and I would like to give a big thanks to @haid82 who developed it.
-
The Sentiment Analyser Connector now offers a choice of two sentiment APIs to run against (we are investigating adding a 3rd).
-
The Yahoo! Placemaker Connector now returns additional data (country, state, county) which can be useful if you are trying to create a hieracrchy in your application (e.g. country->county->town->geo coords).
-
The Twitter Connector has a new UsersLookup table useful for looking up additional info about users, for example, in search results. A minor fix has also been made which may have prevented users in other languages from completing the authentication step.
-
Many other minor fixes, a 'Change Log' section on each connector's wiki page shows the details.
