New Release

We just pushed out a major new release to all our users - if you aren't already using QVSource - The QlikView API Connector - why not request to join our beta programme here.

At time of writing, over 30 professionals on LinkedIn are already recommending the product so we are pretty sure if you are a QlikView user you will also be interested in the new opportunities it offers!

Below I'll outline some of the main updates in this latest edition.

Facebook for Pages Connector & Demo Social Media Analytics Dashboard

The Facebook for Pages Connector, which allows you to load data from Facebook business and brand pages, is now available to all users. Note that you can point this connector to any Facebook page (you don't need to be the page owner).

This allows you to build great dashboards (particularly when mashed up with our Sentiment Connector) which give insight into your own page's performance and also benchmark against competitors in the same industry. The really great thing is we now have a prebuilt demo QlikView application to get you started - and all you need to do is edit the config.txt file for this application (as explained here) to start loading data from Facebook pages which interest you!

Demo Social Media Analytics Dashboard For Twitter

In addition to a number of improvements added to the Twitter Connector (huge thanks to our partner for this) we now also have a new prebuilt dashboard for analysing Twitter accounts and search terms. The application also mashes up the Sentiment and Klout connectors.

Once again, you can simply edit the config.txt file for this application (as explained here) and have it loading data for you or your customers in minutes.

We will be polishing both of the above demo applications over the following weeks but they should provide a great basis for building your own dashboards.

QVSource Server Edition

A much awaited feature, the latest version of QVSource can now be configured to run in server mode, as explained here. This means that QVSource will now be running in the background, even if the server is rebooted and there are no users logged in.

So now you can set up your QVSource based applications with a reload schedule for the accumulation of data and trending analysis. In fact, the Facebook demo application above is perfect for daily reloading and the Twitter application for hourly reloading!

Connector Updates

We have new connectors for sending emails from your QlikView load scripts and also for the World Bank API. As always there have also been a number of other minor updates, fixes and improvements across the board. These are generally documented in the change log on the pages of the individual connectors.

Wiki Review

We have also given the wiki a review, updated screen shots, restructured it in places and generally made a few improvements.

We take our documentation seriously so if you find anything that isn't clear or doesn't make sense please let us know and we will fix ASAP!
